Heart to Heart

You are not alone
You are a warrior
Our Art of Letting Go Retreat is for individuals ages 13+. We would love to share this experience with not just adults, but also their children. As a 501c3 that focuses on adolescents and young adults, we feel that it is important to share our expertise with individuals we also work with.

Sometimes you need a break to revive the heart, rejuvenate your body, recharge your mind, and soothe your soul. Heart to Heart is excited to offer our second annual one-day retreat, to help you do just that. Bring your friends for a relaxing day of meditation, relaxation, and healing from the inside out. During our Yoga and Wellness Retreat, we will have several different sessions available for each individual, ranging from Yoga, Sound Bathing, Tai Chi, Breathing and Meditation techniques along with creating your very own masterpiece with alcohol ink. Each session is designed to help each individual discover their inner peace and learn different ways to take a step back, relax and learn to heal from the inside out.
Coffee and muffins are available during registration.
Lunch is provided.
Plenty of locations for dinner nearby.
Meditation and Breathing Techniques
Clear your mind and release your stress and tension on a getaway to a meditation session. Our retreat is an excellent place for people of all ages, cultures, and religions to learn techniques for finding inner peace and serenity. Come learn mediation from experienced teachers. Meditation is great for better focus and concentration, improving self-awareness and self-esteem, lowering levels of stress and anxiety, and fostering kindness. Meditation also has benefits for your physical health, as it can improve your tolerance for pain and help fight substance addiction. The meditation session will be led by Nikki Levine Bustos owner of Breathe & Balance.

Yoga Workshop
Yoga is a great way to get fit and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere at the same time. Learn the basics or build on what you already know about this ancient healing art that can improve flexibility, increase muscle tone, and reduce stress and high blood pressure. Yoga is great for relieving stress, reducing muscle tension, strain, and inflammation, sharpening attention and concentration, and calming and centering the nervous system. Yoga will be led by Rebekah Mason with Thomas the Apostle Center

Reflexology
Throughout the day hand and foot reflexology will be offered to our participants. Reflexology is a massage technique that puts pressure on various reflex points around your hands and feet. The belief is that these points correlate to different body parts and that massaging the points can help to relieve symptoms in other areas of the body. Our trained reflexologist, Samantha Jones, owner of Catharsis Spa in Cody is excited to offer this hand and foot massage to you.

Creativity Workshop
This year we are excited to welcome Erin Brindle with New Creations Counseling and Art Therapy for our Creativity workshop. Erin will be guiding us with an alcohol ink creation. This is an amazing relaxation technique that brings peace and calmness to the mind. You just need to play with the Ink until you are satisfied with the result. It doesn’t have any pre-defined rules to work with this technique, all you need to do is go with the flow and enjoy the process. Erin is a strong believer that art is for everyone, and that it should be a fun, relaxing, and intuitive process for everyone participating.

Sound Bath Workshop
Sound bath allows your body to go into another meditative experience, through sound only. Here you are “bathed” in sound waves. These waves are produced by various sources, including healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, percussion, chimes, rattles, tuning forks, and even the human voice itself. The music is a carefully selected wash of instruments and voices with notable resonance and overtones. We will be ending the session while your body rests and takes in all the sounds to relax and meditate. The Sound Bath will be led by Jessica Esterly with Heart Felt Impressions.

Tai Chi
Tai chi is a gentle form of exercise that can help reduce stress, improve mood, and keep your heart healthy. But most importantly, it can also benefit your bones. Tai chi is a practice that involves a series of slow gentle movements and physical postures, a meditative state of mind, and controlled breathing. Tai chi originated as an ancient martial art in China. Over the years, it has become more focused on health promotion and rehabilitation. Tai chi is sometimes described as meditation in motion because it promotes serenity through gentle movements — connecting the mind and body. Tai Chi will be led by Dawn Garrison.

Why did you team up with Thea for Heart to Heart - WY?
When meeting Thea, I knew she was "one of us." Those of us who are caregivers hoping to make a difference, leave a footprint of compassion on this world and universe. We both had a strong desire to support individuals living with mental illness. To help them find where they belong in this world by reinforcing their God-given gifts.
Summed up by E.E. Cummings, “The hardest battle of life is to fight the battle of being our true self when the rest of the world wants us to be anything but ourselves”. I found my God-given gift in my career as a mental health therapist. I am blessed every day to have the honor to walk alongside individuals while they walk a path of healing and recovery. Sometimes I say, "They pay me for this?” I am truly blessed to love my job every day.

What age frame do you enjoy working with and why?
I especially love working with teens so they can step out into the world with coping tools and greater knowledge of their authentic selves. To, hopefully, live their truth earlier than later.

What is your first session like with a client?
When I first meet a client, I listen to what brings them in, their “story”. We problem-solve and I help them focus on their strengths and provide coping tools and new ways of seeing themselves and the world. I provide education to include healthy boundaries and assertive communication skills.

What types of therapies do you specialize in?
I specialize in several types of mental health therapies. Including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, transcendental, solution-focused, and equine therapy.
